Beyer Stadium
History
For decades, Beyer Stadium was the center of all athletic activity in Rockford, from high school football games to track and field meets, marching band competitions to traveling circuses. It also witnessed 12 seasons of women’s professional baseball as the home of the Rockford Peaches.
A new era focused on women’s baseball has begun at the park the locals once called the “Peach Orchard.” The International Women’s Baseball Center, now responsible for the field’s use and upkeep, derives daily inspiration from this historic ballpark, which is located in the heart of the IWBC’s future campus. This inspiration has transformed a once vacant lot into a major destination for women’s baseball.
In recent years at Beyer Stadium, the IWBC has hosted record-breaking tournaments for girls and women, community celebrations that have drawn thousands of attendees, and national team exhibition games and events. With support from the Rockford community as well as our international network, the IWBC is building A Place of Their Own for women in baseball.
