Phantom Regiment is proud to partner with the International Women’s Baseball Center in their mission to protect, preserve, and promote women’s baseball. This partnership supports efforts to preserve the historic Beyer Stadium, once home to the legendary Rockford Peaches and a cherished rehearsal site for Phantom Regiment for over a decade. It’s our 20th Anniversary, so bring your monkey back to where it all began at the Sock Monkey Madness Festival in Rockford, Illinois! This year’s theme is Rockford Sports where the Sock Monkeys and families of all ages will have a wild time! IWBC will be on hand with information on upcoming events and to help with activities. You can also get your photo taken with a Rockford Peaches reenactor between 12:00 and 4:00 pm. For tickets or more information, visit Midway Village Museum.
Join the Rockford Public Library in the theater at the Nordlof Center in downtown Rockford for a book launch party. Be one of the first to get a copy of the new book All the Way: The Life of Baseball Trailblazer Maybelle Blair hot off the press. Maybelle Blair is expected to attend, too! Hear Kat and Maybelle talk about the book and Maybelle’s life as a player in the All-American Girl Professional Baseball League, as well as the times she played at Rockford’s own Beyer Stadium. After the talk, join us for a light reception and book signing. Books will be available for purchase.

Bloomfest is an artisan market full of locally-made goods and includes a plant sale, kids’ crafts & activities, food & beverage trucks, live music, and community art projects. Bring your family to Midway Village on Saturday, May 24. Gates open at 10:00 am (1:00 pm game time). Admission includes entrance to the Victorian Village and the Museum Center, where you can also see the Rockford Peaches exhibit. IWBC will be on hand with information on upcoming events and to help with activities. Families are encouraged to dress up like the 1940’s too! Light concessions will be available, as well as Peaches merchandise. We have bleachers, but lawn chairs are welcome! Tickets and more info at Peaches Playdate.
Women in Baseball Week is an annual, worldwide event recognizing the value, diversity, and cultural significance of women in baseball. Women play a vital role in all aspects of the sport north, south, east and west–-help us celebrate each one! Tournaments, teams, libraries, museums, and individuals will join the International Women’s Baseball Center to recognize women’s contributions to baseball around the globe. Mark your calendars! The seventh annual SABR/IWBC Women in Baseball Conference will be held virtually on September 19-21, 2025. This year’s conference — co-sponsored by SABR and the International Women’s Baseball Center and hosted by Rockford University — will be a virtual Zoom event.
